Ryan Cameron Foundation (RCF) 5th Annual “Healthy, Stronger, Living Longer ” Youth Health Fair


On Saturday, November 3, 2012, the Ryan Cameron Foundation (RCF) will present the 5th Annual “Healthy, Stronger, Living Longer ” Youth Health Fair at The Gallery at South DeKalb Mall
(2801 Candler Road, Decatur, GA 30034) from 11A-3P.

RCF will obtain measurable outcomes through test data, surveys, demographic statistics, and resource referral. The RCF will undeniably serve 1,000 persons on this day.

RCF provides free testing for high cholesterol, BMI (Body Mass Index), blood pressure, blood glucose, vision, dental, asthma and podiatry to name a few. 
The program targets Atlanta’s youth but, will serve the entire community. The 2011 mall attendance for the day was 2,000+. To date 2012 sponsors include: Amerigroup, Fulton DeKalb Hospital Authority, and State Farm.

At “Healthy, Stronger, Living Longer ”, the plan is to provide comprehensive focused workshops on diabetes, childhood obesity, nutrition education, and developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

In addition to providing FREE health services, product sampling, community resources, demonstrations and support, RCF provides a continuum of care by offering each youth an in-home gym which consists of a hula hoop and a jump rope.

Each participant also receives active lifestyle demonstrations for exercise (traditional & non‐traditional) a mechanism for change.

The Health Fair also features an extensive Teen Safe Driving area equipped with driving simulators, info for parents, and other activities to promote safe driving and practices.

Last year, 5 teens went home with 40 hours of driving classes.
Each year brings out new partners, new thoughts, and only the best in medical professionals.
