Group to Protest Clayton County Breast Feeding Law

By MYFOXATLANTA STAFF/myfoxatlanta

FOREST PARK, Ga. - Mothers and advocates of breastfeeding plan to protest a controversial ordinance Monday. The group is upset over a new law in Clayton County which limits public breast feeding.

More than 100 breast feeding women and supporters are expected to take part in a nurse-in Monday morning in Forest Park. The so-called "lactivists" are upset over a new law in the Clayton County community limiting public breast feeding.

The ordinance, which was passed to cut down on public nudity, prohibits breast feeding children aged 2 or older.

Organizers have used Facebook to publicize the event and say people from as far as Alabama are expected to attend.

The nurse-in is scheduled to take place in front of the Forest Park City Hall.
